Carers Thames Walk 2012

The Carers Thames Walk 2012 takes place on the 19th May and opens the national awareness event for Carers Week. Click here to book a place or contact Alex at the Carers Centre.

All routes start at Southwark Cathedral.  Here is a brief description of the options for 2012

Long Route
Follow the Thames upstream to Lambeth Bridge. Cross to the North Bank and return downstream to Temple. Walk through the Inns of Court, returning to the river. Continue to The Tower of London and walk round St Katharine’s Dock before returning to the South Bank over Tower Bridge and back to the Cathedral.   About 9 miles

Medium Route
Follow the Thames upstream to Lambeth Bridge. Cross to the North Bank and return downstream to Temple. Walk through the Inns of Court, returning to the river. Continue to Tower Bridge, cross to the South Bank and back to the Cathedral.     About 7.5 miles

Short Route
As much of the above as you want!  But we suggest you go upstream to the Millennium Bridge, cross to the North Bank and return downstream to Tower Bridge. Cross to the South Bank and back to the Cathedral.     About 2.5 miles

Wheelchair Route
Follow the Thames upstream to Lambeth Bridge. Cross to the North Bank and return downstream to The Tower of London and go round St Katharine’s Dock before returning to the South Bank over Tower Bridge and back to the Cathedral.   About 7 miles

Overseas Challenges

If you are interested in other Overseas Challenges, such as cyling to Paris, walking the China Great Wall, or trekking in Peru, let us know and we can organise it for you.

You can also create your own challenge, from classics such as baked beans bath to something more tailored to your personality. The most important thing is to have fun!
