Volunteer Drivers for Young Carers Clubs and Activities

Volunteer Drivers for Young Carers Clubs and Activities

Why do we need minibus drivers?

Drivers allow our young carers to attend clubs, trips and outings, giving them a chance to have some fun and spend time away from their caring role.

What we would like you to do?

We would like you to pick up and drop off for our monthly weekend clubs which take place on Saturday, or residential outings and during school holidays.

Your role will include:

  1. Pick up from the young carers’ home or meeting point and drop off at the club, outing or residential venue.
  2. Pick up from the club, outing or residential venue and drop off at the young carers’ home or meeting point.
  3. You may also like to consider becoming a Activity Volunteer and help out at the club or outings.

How to apply:

If you are over 21 years old and have a full, clean drivers licence, please contact Filsan Sed on info@carerslewisham.org.uk. An enhanced DBS check is required for this role.

If you have your own minibus documents we ask you to provide are a copy of your photo drivers licence, a copy of your insurance policy document (showing business use) and a copy of your MOT certificate.

You must have or be willing to complete a Minibus Drivers Awareness Scheme (MIDAS) qualification.
