WORKING for CARERS

Employment and training advice for unpaid carers

A Carer led employment and training project

Working for Carers” is a project co-funded by the Big Lottery Fund and European Social Fund, designed to fit with complex needs of unpaid carers, who have been involved throughout its creation.

This project has been designed to help enable unpaid carers to feel more employable, to develop skills and to move forward with town employment and/or training goals.

If you are planning to look for employment, gain more skills or just find out what options are available to you, our tailored and flexible service can help you to build strategies to move forward and achieve what once felt impossible.

Our purpose is to:

Support carers to pursue their employment and training goals through confidence building and skill development.

Offer a person centred service that takes into account individual needs and ambitions.

Educate employers about the benefits of hiring carers, adopting carer friendly policies and the struggles carers face in the workplace.

Create a network with local businesses and organisations to create employment, training and volunteering opportunities for carers.

What we offer:

  • One to one sessions in your local area with a dedicated Employment Personal Advisor to help support you throughout your journey;
  • Workshops and group sessions to develop your skills and boost your confidence, delivered in your local area;
  • Access to employment, volunteering and training opportunities that meet your specific needs.
