Working for Carers is a London-wide project that supports unpaid carers, aged 25 or over, to move closer to employment. We provide regular support for carers in Bexley, Bromley, Croydon, City, Islington, Lambeth, Lewisham or Southwark through 1-to-1 support, group workshops and access to employment, volunteering or training opportunities.
We are looking for an Outreach and Engagement Volunteer to work alongside our team to promote our service.
Main duties include:
* Distributing marketing material to strategic locations and partners throughout our target boroughs
* Phoning clients to arrange registrations and appointments
* Market research to identify external organisations with which we can work
Our ideal volunteer
You will be outgoing with good inter-personal skills and confident speaking to people from all walks of life. You will be approachable and confident, with strong influencing skills and an excellent telephone manner.
The hours are flexible, but ideally you would be able to commit to a minimum of one half day per week.
Location
This role will be based out of our office in Forest Hill, however will involve some travel to neighbouring boroughs as outlined above. Travel expenses will be covered by Working for Carers, as well as lunch expenses when working over 4 hours.
