There are many children and young people who care for parents who have mental health problems. Carers Lewisham provides support to Young Carers aged from 5 years old upwards:

Support to Mental Health Carers

Carers Lewisham currently provides a range of support services to carers of people with mental health problems, including one to one support and advocacy; Coping Strategies Session; a monthly Mental Health Drop in for carers; a group for carers on helping carers understand the recovery process.

Support to Dementia Carers

We also have a support service for carers of people with dementia. Support includes one to one support and advice; training on managing challenging behaviour; regular day and evening drops in for support.
