Male carers
Lots of men take on caring roles, as brothers, fathers, sons or friends – in fact more than 4 in 10 people who care for a family member are men. We know that everyone adapts and responds to the role differently, but sometimes it is helpful to have a space where you can share your experiences with others.
As a male carer, you are welcome to use all our services, but our male carers group provides a specific space for you to meet other male carers, share some of the unique challenges that being a male carer brings and hear from others about their experiences, as well as enjoying some social time over a cup of tea or mug of coffee.
The group often focusses around activities such as a weekly quiz, local walk in the park and occasional day trips.
The sessions are every Thursday from 10.30am-12.30pm an are held in-person at our Carers’ Hub in Waldram Place. Please call us on 020 8699 8686 or email us at info@carerslewisham.org.uk to find out more.
The group is free to attend and you are welcome to come to as many, or as few, as you like. No need to book, just show up on the day.
You are, of course, welcome to come to our peer support coffee mornings which are open to all carers.
