Young carers aged 8-18 years old are all invited to take part in our activities, thought ad hoc for each age group.
Our events are various and entertaining, the best way to relax, have some fun and make friends!
Young carers holiday clubs
The holiday club runs throughout the year – summer, half term and Easter, usually from Tuesday to Thursday, 9:30am to 3:30pm for children and young people aged 8-16 years old.
The scheme includes a range of positive and engaging activities where young carers can have fun, learn new skills and be creative. It is sponsored by Phoenix Community Housing Community Chest.
Below are a few comments about the holiday scheme in 2016/17:
“We worked as a team doing it (cooking), had fun doing it and made some good food… sometimes you need people to help you and not to do stuff by yourself.” Aaron, aged 13.
“Young carers holiday club is a fun, engaging place for young people to be. It is full of carefully planned activities that give young people who attend a chance to be creative, relax and so importantly interact with other young carers. The holiday club is so special because it gives young people the chance to go trips and do activities that might otherwise be impossible due to their situation at home.” Lauren, Volunteer
“Brilliant. He enjoyed the programme. I am grateful that my family can take part, I have noticed a change and my son is now more confident.” Young carers parent.
